What is PU building material?

PU building materials refer to building and decorative materials made primarily from polyurethane (PU). PU is a polymeric synthetic material often used as a replacement for traditional materials like stone, wood, and metal due to its lightweight, weather-resistant, waterproof, and mildew-resistant properties.

Basic Features

1. Lightweight: Its low density makes it weigh only a fraction of natural stone or wood, reducing the load on buildings.

2. Waterproof and moisture-proof: Its closed-cell structure absorbs virtually no water, making it suitable for hot and humid regions (such as the Middle East and Southeast Asia).

3. Weather-resistant: It is UV-resistant, crack-resistant, and resistant to high and low temperatures, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

4. Easy to process: It can be molded, engraved, or spray-painted, creating surface effects that can mimic stone, wood, or metal.

Environmentally friendly: Authentic PU products have low VOC emissions and meet green building standards.

Common types

1. PU Stone Panel

This surface simulates stone and weighs only 1/10 the weight of natural stone. It is commonly used for wall decoration in hotels, villas, and shopping malls.

2. PU Wood Grain Panel/Decorative Molding

It can replace solid wood decoration and is insect-resistant, mildew-resistant, and deformation-resistant.

3. PU Insulation Board/Sandwich Panel

As an exterior wall insulation material, it offers excellent thermal insulation and is often used in conjunction with metal sheeting.

4. PU Ceiling/European-Style Decorative Parts

It is used for interior ceilings, skirtings, and Roman columns, and is widely used in high-end residential and hotel decoration.

Applications

Indoor: Wall and ceiling decoration in hotels, villas, apartments, and office buildings.

Outdoor: Curtain wall decoration, villa facades, and shopping mall/exhibition hall exteriors.

Public: Shopping malls, subway stations, schools, hospitals, and other places requiring moisture-resistant and durable finishes.
